Tara Katherine Duke
Principal Designer, Tara Katherine Duke, officially launched her eponymous firm just before the 2020 pandemic - because what better time to start entering the homes of strangers? Fortunately, the pull toward great design outweighed the risk of potential exposure.
With a background spanning fashion, art sales, and a former life as a finance writer and copywriter, Tara brings a layered, editorial approach to her work. A brief (and admittedly mediocre) chapter as a full-time stay-at-home parent, followed by a short -but not nearly short enough- stint as a part-time pandemic epidemiologist (you too?), ultimately led her to fully commit to her firm and she hasn’t looked back.
An East Coast girl at heart (with a deep love for a good brick wall), Tara draws inspiration from her California lifestyle, creating spaces that strike a balance between laid-back ease and refined sophistication - with just the right amount of cheeky fun.
Her days start before the sun wake-ups and are run on controlled chaos, overpriced candles, and an uncanny ability to get complete strangers to tell her their life story.
