Tara Katherine Duke
Principal Designer, Tara Katherine Duke, formalized her eponymous firm right before the 2020 pandemic after years of dabbling in the industry. No better time to enter the homes of strangers, the gravitational pull towards great design was worth the risk of potential exposure. Past careers in the fashion industry and art sales inform much of her creative process but leaving behind a career as a finance and copy writer, a mediocre-at-best stint as a full-time stay-at-home parent and a quick, but not quick enough gig as a part-time pandemic epidemiologist (you too?) to dive deep into her firm is what keeps her going. Having found her true calling in interior design, this East coast girl (who loves a brick wall), pulls inspiration from her California life into her work, making sure the end result is always a perfect combination of laid back, cheeky yet sophisticated style. She balances her busy schedule with controlled chaos, over-priced scented candles, a 5-star Uber rating from her kids, and a remarkable ability to make total strangers tell her their life story.
